The funny things about the egyptians is where they got their stone from. You would think it came from some mudbrick or something. But they- for being from way back when- got the stone from huge limestone quarries. They odviously did'nt have advanced stuff like a saw but to them (although not to us) even a chisel was advanced as it goes for them. You wouldn't think you could do much with a chisel and a wood slab but they lifted hundreds of huge blocks from the side of a rockwall. Woppie. Who would want to work on a giant structure for 20 years. NO WAY! You wish. But now a days people are so lazy. We of coarse wouldn't stand in the beating hot sun every day. They used a wooden slap and put it in the holes they chizled out. Wow isn't that advanced.Well, they did do some good thinking though. For instance they poured water on the wooden slabs. When would gets wet you know how it warps. Well that was the idea behind it. They thought that when it expanded it would make the stone pull away from the wall. Well, it worked. Then when it fell the people down under it would chisel it straight. Dangerous right. Well thats what I thought to. Werid, right. Well if you read some of my other posts you'll learn lots more.
